2. Read the summary of the Declaration of rights of Man at this web site: http://library.thinkquest.org/C006257/revolution/declaration_rights.shtml. 1. Where did it come from? 2. The Declaration wanted to destroy government based on absolutism and replace it with what type of government?

4. Which came first...the Declaration of Rights or the Bill of Rights? Who wrote them?
5. Look at the Bill of Rights: http://law2.umkc.edu/faculty/projects/ftrials/conlaw/billofrightsintro.html. 1. List 10 "rights" that are granted. (There are 10 Amendments, but many many more rights.)
6. Look at the Declaration of Rights, there are 17 articles: http://www.historyguide.org/intellect/declaration.html 1. List 5 rights granted here that are similar to the rights granted in the Bill of Rights.
7. Why do YOU think all these important documents contain the same/similar guarantees/rights for citizens?
